THIS JEWELRY’S STORY
The First Aviation Watch Built for Women
After obtaining her pilot's license, Abingdon Welch went looking for a pilot watch that could fit her. In 2007, all aviation watches seemed to be designed with men in mind - not surprising given that only 5% of the aviation industry was female. Well that didn't suit her, so she took eleven months to design and test-fly the first pilot's watch built for women, Amelia. Complete with GMT, a flight computer, and the most reliable quartz movement, Amelia is the pilot's watch that real pilots use.
